The meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Cambridge is held in Council Chambers and is live streamed to the City of Cambridge website. Chair Ermeta welcomes everyone present and calls the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Members of Council provided the following direction to staff:

  • Inquire into and establish new processes to notify community residents by advertising in local spaces, including Legions, recreational, community and cultural centres and providing opportunities for community open houses, and providing notification via tax bills and water bills to residents that may not use social media or online resources
  • Inquire into the potential of providing public notice via postcards to improve offline resident engagement 
  • Staff are to take into consideration the unique character of different neighbourhoods within the City to ensure future preservation
  • Inquire into parking standards that will accommodate Cambridge families 

Members of Council provided the following direction to staff:

  • Inquire into the preservation of the natural vegetation in the proposed development by way of a vegetation management plan and protect trees in adjacent properties
  • Inquire into how many units on the lower level will be barrier-free to meet accessibility requirements for all residents
  • Inquire into creating barrier-free parking to accommodate all future residents
  • Require that the developer relocate the recycling and garbage to an area that will not affect adjacent residents
  • Require that the developer relocate the proposed amenity space due to potential flooding that may occur during large storm events
  • Inquire into placing a proper buffer between the existing neighbours and the new proposed development
